The Crown - Possesed 13
![]() With the mighty vocals of J. Lindstrand, The Crown are back with their intense and groovy death metal. "Possessed 13" stands for a "old/new era" in the bands timeline. J. Lindstrand are back, doing his vocal duties as only he can. I must say that this man are a vital part of the "crown sound". Not that the "Crowned In Terror" album with Tompa Lindberg (ex. A.T.G.) on vocals was bad but there was definetily something missing on that record. Something that "P 13" confirms. "P 13" were recorded at Studio Fredman, not much to say about that. This studio are nowadays what the Sunlight studio was in the "golden days of death metal" back in 89-94. Enginered by Patric J. Sten. What about the sound then? Back are the grovy feeling
that first appeared on "Hell Is Here" and later "Deathrace
King". The strenght of The Crown´s music lies in the excellent
writings that combine melody and speed with a "motorheadish"
grove. Their music simply doesn´t get boring, never. The tracks
that is to be mentioned above others are the heavy "No Tomorrow",
"Are You Morbid", "Dawn Of Emptiness" and "Natashead
Overdrive" among with the faster ones as "Morningstar Rising",
"Zombiefied!". Good music together with an excellent layout.
In my case, the black edition with the bonus CD, but that's another
story. A good album that lives up to the high expectations that I had
for this one. See also the interview
with M. Olsfelt.
