Blowback - Demo 05
![]() When I wrote a review about a demo a little while ago I started like this: "T-Maze is a Swedish band from the town Örebro and according to themselves, they play heavy 70's hard rock with some stoner influences, and I couldn't have said it better myself because that is exactly how they sound." And now when T-Maze have changed their name into Blowback the description still fits rather well, the only thing that really has changed is the name. The demo from Blowback features five songs and it holds an even level of quality straight through and is filled with lots of Black Sabbath groove. The first song on the disc is Screaming My Name and that is a song that fits their description greatly with a great flow and heavy stoner riffing. The riffs keep their music together and their mix between seventies groove and more modern stoner makes Blowback interesting to listen to, even if some of the songs are slower in tempo but keep a constant flow or a groove if you will. My personal favorite on this demo is the track Troll that is the most powerful one with a mighty groove and has some really nice guitar lines in true Sabbath style. Stoner isn't a genre that is my area of expertise even
if I very much enjoy it, but they can't hide their Kyuss influences
away from me and when they take wider turns with their seventies influences
they come close to the sound of the band Abramis Brama. Compared to
the demo they did as T-Maze, they have surely taken a step forward and
matured as a band and hopefully they will continuing in the same direction. ![]()
