Metal Covenant goes MySpace. We decided to finally put up a small informative page there as well. It is purely there for the purpose of spreading our name and our adress and does not contain anything new that is not posted here on the main site. Not especially interesting, but if you still want to check it out, it can be found here.

There are a lot of clips available on the net of guitarists covering the classic song Canon In D Major by 17th century composer Johann Pachelbel (originally arranged for electric guitar by the taiwanese guitarist JerryC in 2004), but I have to take the opportunity to promote the following french guy. An absolutely stunning version, the best in my opinion, and this guy may very well be a big name in the future. He is only 16 years of age and only time will tell what will become of him. Remember where you (perhaps) read it first... Just check this clip out. Being an adorer of classical music myself, I can say that this is among the best songs ever written in the history of music and this just gives me the chills. Check the guy's MySpace site out here and support him buy buying a few tunes. The clip above is the "final" version of his rendition of Canon In D he has put online, the previous ones can be found here and here. Also check out his profile on YouTube here for a lot of other songs very influenced by Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. The original version by JerryC can be seen here. Here are a couple of guys that are playing it pretty decent too...: here and here.

The publishing of the staff toplist for 2007 will not happen this year since the site was recently closed for almost half a year and parts of the staff are not yet up to date on everything that was released during 2007. A list would therefore be quite misguiding so we will refrain from compiling one this time. We'll give you one next year instead. On a sidenote, we are right now also closing in to publishing the 1000th cd review on Metal Covenant since the start. Hooray...

Metal Covenant is back in business again. Perhaps a bit slow now in the beginning, but at least we are rolling.... Welcome back, and now hurry to run out and tell your friends and family about the big news. We also welcome our new staff member Mozzy, who will mainly concentrate on live reviews with the odd cd review every now and then. The word is also that reviewer and co-founding member Mat is on his way back after a long absence.
